Weatherproof Camera Control Systems

Two Weatherproof Camera Control Systems are available. The original HD and the new LWP based system. Both consist of an Environmental Housing and Weatherproof Pan/Tilt head. The systems are designed to integrate with a variety of broadcast cameras and lenses of the customer’s choice. Camera Remote Setup, Lens, Pan/Tilt Head, and Weatherproof Housing Controls are provided along with complete system power.

Camera Interface Adapters

The original HD system includes the PT-HD-3 heavy duty Pan/Tilt Head, with an over the top mounted camera housing. The various sizes include the CHD-HD-HOU, HD-HOU-S2 and LHD-HOU-S2 for optimal weight and wind loading. The Pan/Tilt has high resolution optical encoders added for position feedback and the camera housings have the control and interface electronics plus power supply for the Camera, Pan/Tilt Head and Weatherproof Housing. The LHD housings will accommodate the largest camera and lens configurations. The HD system also provides for single coax connectivity utilizing the SER-INT Interface Unit for multiplexed video, controls and power as an option. The HD housings include a window wiper as standard with the window washer as an option.

The new LWP system includes a weatherproof version of the indoor studio Pan/Tilt Head the PT-LWP-S3 with cradle mounted camera housing. The Pan/Tilt Head provides the same performance and features of the studio version including smooth accurate positioning, Ethernet connectivity and integral cable management. Options include positional encoded feedback for position tracking.

The LWP-HOU and LWP-HOUL Weatherproof Environmental Housing will accommodate broadcast cameras and lenses designed for robotics applications. Larger housings can be custom designed for various Eng cameras and camcorders. The LWPO-WP Window Wiper option and LWP-WW Window Washer are available. The LWP system can be powered by the PS-RM rack mounted power supply or a local PS-CM-3 external Chassis Mount Power supply. The LWP-PS-HOU Weatherproof Environmental Power Supply Enclosure is available to house a PS-CM power supply with thermostatically controlled heater.


Weatherproof Pan/Tilt Heads LP Servo Weatherproof Pan/Tilt Head PT-LWP-S3 The PT-LWP-S3 Head is a weather proof version of the PT-LP-S3 Pan/Tilt Head designed for broadcast studio applications that provides smooth slow or high speed “Camera Operator” like moves. Programmable timed presets start and stop all axes simultaneously. The connector mounting base and internal cabling prevents external cable damage and wear. Weatherproof connectors are provided for Serial RS-232/422 or 10/100 Base-T Ethernet via Cat 5 cable. An adjustable mounting platform accommodates LWP-HOU and LWPL-HOU Weatherproof Housings. Options include Camera Genlock connectivity and high resolution positional feedback for tracking systems.

	LWP-HOU Weatherproof Camera Housings The LWP Weatherproof Housings are available in two standard sizes, LWP-HOU and LWP-HOUL. They have all aluminum construction with glossy white powder coat finish for durability and heat reflection. Custom designed housings are available. Features include Remote Wiper and Washer Control, Thermostatically controlled fan/heater/defroster, Adjustable Camera Mounting Plate and Sun Shield. Options include: Window Wiper, Low Temperature operation, Lens Extender Control, SDI Video and Genlock, Lens Stabilizer Control and Triax Interface.

LWP-HOU Weatherproof Power Supply Housing Designed for complete environmental protection of system power supplies. All aluminum construction with military grade sealed connectors. Thermostatically controlled heater. Four mounting holes. Requires PS-CM-3 power supply, ordered separately.

	LWP-WW and HD-HOU-W Window Washer The LWP-WW is designed for use with the LWP and LWPL Housings. The HD-HOU-W operates with the CHD, HD and LHD Housings. They both contain large fluid reservoirs and water pumps. Reservoirs can be easily removed for refilling. Wall mounting brackets included. Requires local AC Power.

PT-HD3-S2 Heavy Duty Pan/Tilt Head Rugged all metal construction. Single 14-pin military sealed connector for power and drive signals. DC servo drive motors are controlled via precision position optical encoders for recall accuracy. Easily adjustable end stops and internal backlash adjustment. Can be operated upright or inverted. Low temperature option available.

Heavy Duty Weatherproof Housings HD-HOU-S2, CHD-HOU-S2 and LHD-HOU-S2 Completely sealed controlled environment for Camera, Lens and control system electronics. Various sizes available to accommodate different camera and lens configurations. Contains internal system power supply for Pan/Tilt Head, Camera/Lens and Housing. Requires local AC power. Options include 500 foot multiplexed Video and Controls on a single coax cable to the externally mounted Serial Interface Unit for remote diagnostics and video transmission system connectivity.

S2 Serial Interface Unit Links to the HD Weatherproof Housing with multiplex option via a single coax cable. Provides connections for control data to and from the weatherproof housing along with video output connections. Requires local AC power.

Mounting Accessories: HD3-POST The HD3 Mounting post is constructed of aluminum with a mounting hole pattern to accept the PT-HD-3 Pan/Tilt Head and can be secured to a flat surface through four mounting holes. The standard length is 24 inches with custom lengths available. HD3-PIPEMTG The HD3 Mounting Pipe Adapter is designed to mount the PT-HD-3 Pan/Tilt Head to standard 4” diameter customer supplied pipe. It inserts into and caps off the pipe with ¼-20 tapped holes to retain it.
