ESPN Employs Telemetrics Triax Camera Control System
For Xtreme Games And MLB All-Star Game.

Mahwah, NJ -- Telemetrics, Inc.'s TM9250 Triax Camera Control System has been getting prime time exposure with ESPN over recent months. The system, which was purchased by Advanced Broadcast Services (ABS), is integrated with ABS' innovative Portable Intelligent Tracking Antenna (the PITA) wireless camera system. The system was recently used by ESPN to broadcast the Xtreme Games and to provide coverage from the 1998 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

"When it came time for Advanced Broadcast Services to replace its aging triax system, which has been part of our PITA wireless camera system, I naturally turned to Telemetrics," said Bill Freiberger, Broadcast Marketing Engineer, ABS."The PITA system is unique among wireless cameras, and is as dependent on the Triax System as it is on the Intelligent Tracker.

"Telemetrics' speedy response to our inquiries, and patience as we worked out the customization details for the system, was most welcome. We received the system and immediately integrated it into our system. A couple of days later, it was sent off to the Xtreme Games. Telemetrics' technicians were really helpful with such a one of a kind modification," continued Mr. Freiberger.

"It was a pleasure working with Telemetrics, and I am pleased to see that some good things -- like Telemetrics -- remain constant in this ever changing thing we call television," concluded Mr. Freiberger.

The Telemetrics TM9250 permits cable runs of up to 5000 feet using standard triax cable. It incorporates genlock at the base station and automatically adjusts horizontal phasing for different cable lengths. The TM9250 also provides comprehensive remote camera set-up and adjustment capabilities, NTSC/PAL video outputs, return video, microphone, audio, intercom, program audio, tally and power. In addition, the TM9250 features a newly designed compact half-rack CCU that saves space and provides added mounting versatility.

Telemetrics, Inc. offers a comprehensive line of camera control components and systems for broadcast, industrial, educational and military applications. The company's highly specialized line of systems includes: Camera control thru triax cable, RF and fiber links; Teleconferencing and distance learning systems; Programmable computer controlled pan/tilt mechanisms; Robotic camera mounts; and outdoor pan/tilt systems.
