Globosat Scores Big With Telemetrics Robotic Camera System For World Cup Coverage. Camera Robotics Employed For Studio Anchor & Interviews.

Mahwah, NJ -- Globosat, one of the largest broadcast networks in Brazil, has installed an advanced Telemetrics Camera Robotics System in a remote studio facility located in Seoul, Korea to cover the World Cup. The camera robotics system is used to provide all camera coverage of the networks’ dedicated sports anchor studio where game highlights, recaps and interviews will take place over the duration of the World Cup. A total of three cameras are used in the studio – all of which are integrated into the Telemetrics Camera Robotics System.

“Globosat’s remote studio is designed so that a small on-site crew can produce very sophisticated programming using multiple cameras,” said Anthony Cuomo, Vice President, Telemetrics, Inc. “Remote studio broadcast facilities employing camera robotics provide a very cost-efficient means of extending a station or networks’ production capabilities for both temporary and permanent satellite locations.”

Gobosat’s Telemetrics Camera Robotics System features a Telemetrics Camera Trolley System with a Sony 3CCD camera mounted on the studio ceiling to provide overhead and wide angle cover shots. Two Telemetrics Televator Motorized Elevating Pedestals with PT-LP-S2 Pan/Tilt Mechanisms are positioned on the studio floor and are equipped with Philips CCD cameras.

The Telemetrics Camera Trolley Systems installed in Globosat’s remote studio can be configured to meet virtually any production application with custom track lengths and easily adjustable end-stops. The lightweight trolley system is easy to mount and highly unobtrusive, which makes it ideal for small studios. The PT-LP-S2 Pan/Tilt Mechanisms employed in the system feature RS232/422 control and preset/motion control, smooth slow and high-speed “camera operator” like movements with programmable timed presets. In addition to use on the Camera Trolley System, PT-LP-S2 units are mounted on both Telemetrics Televator Motorized Elevating Pedestal systems to provide remote height adjustment.

A single operator controls the camera robotics system using Telemetrics CP-R-3A Rack Mounted Quad Serial Control Panel. The unit features two high quality three-axis joysticks for pan, tilt, and zoom operations with separate speed sensitivity control knobs for each function. Additional features include separate focus control; iris/ pedestal control knobs; and the ability to interface with camera remote operating panel for camera set-up.
