Telemetrics Camera Robotics And Triax Systems Put “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” On Air At Walt Disney MGM Studios.

Mahwah, NJ -- Telemetrics, Inc. recently installed a fully integrated camera robotics and camera control system at Walt Disney MGM Studios for the special on-location airing of the popular hit show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. The system incorporates the latest advancements in camera robotics technology along with refined triax multiplexing systems developed by Telemetrics. When used in tandem, Telemetrics camera robotics and control systems simplify installation as all control, video and power for the cameras is transmitted over a single cable.

"The advantages of Telemetrics camera control systems apply to all levels of production, whether on the set of Millionaire, a long distance learning classroom, a local news broadcast studio, or an operating room,” said Anthony Cuomo, Vice President, Telemetrics, Inc. “Our camera control systems deliver the performance required for the most demanding applications at an affordable price. As a result, you’ll find Telemetrics systems across the broadest range of applications.”

The Telemetrics camera control system installed at the Walt Disney MGM Studios includes the company’s TM9660 Triax Multiplexing System, PT-HP-S High Performance Serial Controlled Camera Robotics Pan/Tilt Heads, TMCPS Control Panel Software with a CP-D2A Desktop Control Panel, and EWM-PT Elevating Wall Mount System.

Four of the PT-HP-S pan/tilts are outfitted with extended arm options from Telemetrics, which allows the cameras to hang from above the centerline of the pan axis. The pan/tilts are mounted on a scissor mechanism to lower them from the ceiling to provide easy entrance and egress of the studio audience. In addition, Telemetrics recently introduced EWM-PT Elevating Wall Mount with a high-speed option is employed to provide vertical camera movement above the set.

Telemetrics TM-CPS control software provides complete pan, tilt, zoom and focus control, preset position and motion control storage and recall. The software offers 1000 presets per camera and 500 motion sequences per camera with up to 10 minutes of motion in each setting. In addition, Telemetrics’ TM-CPS control software interfaces with Disney’s “Game Play” computer that automatically operates a wide range of functions like video switching, lighting, and winner notification. The Game Play computer triggers presets in Telemetrics TM-CPS control software to activate camera preset and motion recall.
