Time Warner Lightens Their EFP Load
With Telemetrics Coax Camera Control Systems.
Lightweight Coax Cable Replaces Heavy Multi-core Cable In The Field.
Mahwah, NJ -- Time Warners Channel 7 in St. Pete, Florida has a much happier field production crew since the local origination cable channels engineering staff decided to outfit their mobile production unit with six Telemetrics TM-9255 Coax Camera Control Systems. The Telemetrics systems employ standard coax cable instead of heavy multi-core cable to connect the stations six Hitachi Z1 cameras to their mobile production unit making it easier for the crew to set-up and for maintenance to make repairs on the fly.
We have been using Telemetrics TM-9255 Coax Camera Control Systems for almost two years without any problems, said Rusty Lisk, Chief Engineer at Time Warners Channel 7 in St. Pete, FL. The have performed flawlessly and helped to greatly reduce set-up time since they use standard coax cable. Its much lighter than multi-core cable and is easier to maintain. The Telemetrics Coax Camera Control Systems have improved the efficiency of our field production unit in many ways.
Time Warners Channel 7 uses its mobile production unit to produce a variety of programming including professional arena football, entertainment programs and local high school football and basketball games. The Telemetrics TM-9255 Coax Camera Control Systems employed by the station permit cable runs of up to 1500 feet between the production unit and each camera location using standard coax cable. The system incorporates genlock at the base station and automatically adjusts horizontal phasing for different cable lengths. The TM-9255 also provides comprehensive remote camera set-up and adjustment capabilities, NTSC/PAL video outputs, return video, microphone, audio, intercom, program audio, tally and power to each of Channel 7s six Hitachi Z1 cameras.
In addition to the high performance and reliability of the Telemetrics Coax Camera Control Systems, Telemetrics engineering staff has been very helpful. Their support is outstanding, concluded Mr. Lisk.
